About the Candidate

Loudoun County is slipping away—and we are running out of time to turn it back.

Virginia has moved hard to the left and so has Loudoun County.

This didn’t happen overnight, and it didn’t happen by accident.

It happened because our local party has failed to do the basic work required to win.
I plan to rebuild, reenergize, and restore a Republican Party that wins elections and earns trust.

This is how we turn Loudoun County red again:
- Recruit and support winning candidates
- Energize volunteers and staff every poll
- Turn out voters—especially the previously disengaged
- Protect election integrity
- Rebuild donor confidence and steward funds responsibly
- Unite the committee and rebuild trust
- Use every resource available to get Republicans elected

My name is George Taplin and I am running to replace Scott Pio as the Chairman of the
Loudoun County Republican Committee (LCRC).
The stakes are too high for business as usual. This is our moment to reset, rebuild, and win.
I would be honored to earn your vote.

Bio

Unlike the democrats who run for office, I do not enjoy talking about myself. I am described by
people who like me as an outgoing, positive, optimistic, type “A” personality, highly competitive
and driven to succeed. People who don’t like me portray me much differently. Like most of you
I live my life doing the best I can to help people and to be a positive role model.
I grew up in the sixties, and was the typical high achiever, top five in my high school class (voted
class clown in our yearbook), lettered in baseball, basketball, track, and cross-country, and
interested in everything around me. I did not, however, join in the anti-war protests, which set
me apart from my peers and started me on the search to find common sense governance. I turned
toward working within a system to effect positive change, in lieu of causing hate and discontent
by protesting the status quo. I believe that mindset describes most conservative-leaning people in our country.
A short Bio cannot possibly touch on most aspects of a fifty-year career. I can speak endlessly
about my experiences (in the Navy we called these “Sea Stories” and they were mostly true) and
if anyone would like to learn about specifics of my work, contact me and I will gladly answer all your questions.
My career path included the U.S. Navy (retired), Federal Government (retired), High School
Teacher, religious education teacher, and High School and AAU Basketball Coach. I traveled
world-wide and was privileged to observe how much of the rest of the world lives. I worked at
many jobs: as an electronics engineer, software engineer, contracting officer, project manager,
teacher, basketball coach, and firearms instructor among others. My education includes
undergraduate degrees in Management and Computer Science, and a graduate degree in Software
Engineering. I have numerous certifications in a wide variety of subjects including Praxis
Certifications in biology, history, social studies, and English, I am a Certified Project Manager
and Oracle database administrator, and I have the actual work experience in all these fields.
During my Naval career, I was elected as president of the Petty Officers Association at three
different commands. While with the federal government, I was subject to the Hatch Act and
could not get directly involved in politics, although I was a member of the Fairfax County
Republican Committee and served as precinct captain for four years. Additionally, I formed a
group called the Minutemen of Virginia whose stated objective was to stop the Town of Herndon
from subsidizing an illegal alien work center (it took two years, but our work was successful).
After retiring from the government, I joined the LCRC to help get conservatives elected to legislative positions.
For further information, please contact me and we can sit together over coffee and discuss how
we can make Loudoun and Virginia great again.
